I used to think that pairing black + brown was a "no no". Really, what I have learned, is that with fashion, there are no "no no's". Really, you can do whatever you want. And if someone doesn't like what you are wearing, well, it's not really your problem! I think that's actually one of the best things about creating your style. In life there are all sorts of rules, but with your personal style, the options are really endless. Well, I thought I would highlight how I recently paired black and brown for a cute Sunday brunch look!
- Sunglasses: Ray Ban Clubmaster
- Shirt: Lauren Ralph Lauren
- Denim: Talbots (these are the BEST jeans ever... I bought 5 pair).
- Belt: Vintage from Mom
- Smoking Slippers: Ralph Lauren (similar here)
- Clutch: K. Slademade via Tuckernuck
- Vest: Barbour (it's the liner for my jacket!)
The button down is black with brown equestrian accents so it can go either way which is actually why I purchased the shirt. It was a very mild day so I didn't even need a full jacket. I just threw on the liner from my Barbour jacket. This is the kids liner... It is plenty big enough and it was a lot less $$$.
The K. Slademade clutch helped to tie in the belt and shoes and the navy accents went with the denim. I like this look because it's not too matchy-matchy, but I think it flows well. For my hair... well, it wasn't cooperating so I just twisted it up into a top knot (not to be confused with the infamous sock bun).
Do you pair black and brown? Have a fabulous day!
Yours,
sCe
